#How many days does the Char Dham Yatra take?


The Char Dham Yatra begins from Haridwar. As you will know that a lot of main trains go to Haridwar from our country. So our journey will start from Haridwar and end at Haridwar. The Char Dham Yatra is being planned.It is about 9 days or 10 days. If you go to Gaumukh, it will take you 1 day more.


#Which Way To Go?

If you are in a group then it is best for you to get a taxi. If there is a group of 5 people, you can also book a car. If you are coming by flight then you can start your journey from Dehradun. The nearest airport to Haridwar is Dehradun from where you can catch a bus or taxi to Haridwar.

From Haridwar you have to go towards Badkot. The distance from Haridwar to Badkot is about 180 km. It will take you about 8 hours to cover this distance. It will take you about one day to arrive.


#Where Do U Stay?

You will also find many hotels and dharamshalas in Badkot. A lot depends on what your budget is. If we talk the room rent, then it is taken ₹2000 per/person. Hotels here are expensive because Char Dham Yatra is open only for 5 months.After that due to heavy winter there are landslides etc. due to which it is closed.

1.Jankichatti from Badkot(Yamunotri)


Now you have to go to Jankichatti from Badkot. The distance of Janki Chatni from Badkot is approximately 45 kilometres. From Jankichatti you will have to trek to Yamunotri. The trek to Yamunotri is 5 km long. This journey will take you about 2 hours and you will reach Yamunotri. Here you can see the Yamuna River. The river Yamuna originates from here. From Yamunotri again you have to come to Jankichatti on foot.


2.Uttarkashi from Badkot (Gangotri)


Now you have to go to Uttarkashi from Badkot which is at a distance of 80 kilometres. It will take you around 3 to 4 hours to travel from Badkot to Uttarkashi. In Uttarkashi you will get to see Gangotri. Uttarkashi  will have to go to Gangotri in which you will not have to travel on foot. You will get a direct bus from here. After visiting Gangotri you come back to Uttarkashi.

In the Char Dham Yatra, you will have to walk on foot in two places.

 2. Yamunotri
